EuroCham Cambodia, in collaboration with the United Nations in Cambodia and the European Union Delegation to Cambodia, held an event on Advancing Gender Equality in the Workplace: Technology and Media in advance of International Women's Day. The event highlighted the significant issue of technology and media related to gender equality, with statistics showing that 58% of adolescent girls have experienced online harassment and 85% experiencing multiple forms of technology-facilitated gender-based violence. The event also highlighted the gender divide in the media, with only 5% of stories featuring exclusively women and 47% featuring exclusively men. Panellist Adrienne Ravez-Men called attention to the fact that only 2% of venture capital funds go towards startups founded by women in the US. Last but not least, EuroCham Cambodia urged attendees to keep these topics front and centre, as it will take sustained effort to reverse these trends.
