Registration of 59 Investment Projects Worth Approximately USD 816 Million by the Council for the Development of Cambodia in May 2025
Phnom Penh, Cambodia – June 2025 — The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) officially registered 59 new investment projects in May 2025, with a total capital investment of approximately USD 816 million. These projects are expected to generate around 44,000 new jobs across the Kingdom.
Of the 59 projects:
• 38 projects are located outside Special Economic Zones (SEZs)
• 21 projects are located within SEZs
This represents a significant increase of 34 projects, or approximately 136%, compared to the same month in May 2024. In terms of capital, investment increased by USD 570 million, or 231% year-over-year.
From January to May 2025, the CDC registered a total of 290 investment projects, marking a 90% increase (137 more projects) compared to the same period in 2024. The cumulative investment capital reached USD 4.2 billion, a 52% increase from the previous year’s total.

Industrial Projects (Within SEZs)
Expansion of Automotive Tire Manufacturing
• Location: Sihanoukville Bavet Special Economic Zone, Svay Rieng Province
• Additional Investment: Approximately USD 244 million
Establishment of a Chemical Production Factory
• Location: HuangShang International Special Economic Zone, Svay Rieng Province
• Investment Capital: Approximately USD 20 million
